2009 - A NEW HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER

The Rangers open at home against the Cleveland Indians tomorrow afternoon before a standing room only crowd at The Ballpark in Arlington.

Kevin Millwood will start for the Rangers, against last year's American League Cy Young Award winner -- lefthander Cliff Lee.

Texas finalized its 25-man active roster Sunday and will carry a pitching staff of 12 --5 starters and seven in the bullpen.

Starters are listed as Millwood,Vicente Padilla, Brandon McCarthy, Kris Benson and Matt Harrisson.

Bullpen -- Scott Feldman, Frank Francisco, Eddie Guardado, C.J. Wilson, Jason Jennings, Josh Rupe and Frank Francisco.

Catchers -- Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Taylor Teagardem

Infield -- Chris Davis, Ian Kinsler, Michael Young, Elvis Andrus, Hank Blalock and Omar Vizquel.

Outfielders --David Murphy, Josh Hamilton, Nelson Cruz, Marlon Byrd and Andruw Jones.

All the Rangers farm clubs with the exception of the Arizona Rookie League Rangers and short season Spokane open their seasons April 9.

The Oklahoma City Redhawks will be at Memphis, the Frisco Rough Riders will be at Springfield, the Bakersfield Blaze at Modesto and the Hickory Crawdads play host to Bowling Green.
